Welcome to this sacred path of learning
to support mothers and babies in their birth journey!

From re-wilding our wombs and activating our voices, to deepening the understanding of our options and their impact within the birth journey, there are many pathways for women to return to our power in birth.

I’ve created the Sacred Birth Path course to cultivate a community of birth guardians who understand and honor the spirit of birth, as well as can serve women and families on their journeys.

My journey began in a full moon sister circle where I was inspired as I listened to a woman’s passionate story of her recent home birth with a midwife. Shortly after, at age 20, I was asked to catch my first baby. The moment the baby emerged, the energy so was powerful and precious, it changed me forever. I instinctively knew birth was sacred, and to be protected.

I went on to study and graduate from the National College of Midwifery, apprentice with eight midwives, and become a nationally certified professional midwife. as well as a licensed midwife in the state of Oregon. I worked at the first waterbirth center in the U.S. and at the African Birth Collective in Senegal, West Africa. I taught birth classes in the U.S., Indonesia, Brazil, and Peru, and I have attended well over 450 births. I have been creating education and courses for doulas, birthing families, nurses, and birth keepers for many years now.

I gave birth to my child at home in water, in Hawaii, and I personally know the profound impact of gentle, sacred birthing. This island emanates an enchanting beauty and ancient wisdom which is the perfect setting for offering empowering birth education. Birth is the ultimate expression of creation, and we live here in the lap of Pele, whose volcano is constantly birthing new land.

I have always explored creative energy in many of its facets. I have painted since I was young, I love painting images of pregnancy & birth (seen on this page).

I also spent years embracing the drum as a tool of healing, and eventually my path unfolded as full-time touring drummer for Nahko and Medicine for the People. The drum and birth have intertwined in my life ever since.

Before birth was ‘sterilized’ by modern medicine, rhythm and birth have always gone together. There were birth songs in ancient temples. As a woman open and uses her voice in labor, it directly affects the opening of her womb, And the mother’s heartbeat is the very first sound every baby hears within the womb. My work now is Medicine for the Mamas!

In response to our community’s unmet needs for more healthy birth options on our island, I founded Healthy Birth Hawaii. But truly, to serve this great need in the world, we must grow more birth workers, and this has inspired me to create the Sacred Birth Path.

My intention with the Sacred Birth Path is to offer a unique educational experience which is accessible, effective, inspiring, and offers a strong foundation to understanding birth, with the intimate feeling of a sister circle. Because it is this very intimacy that is at the heart of birth.

These courses are richly infused with both modern and ancient wisdom to empower you to support a laboring mother and her newborn, as well as give you the holistic and practical tools you need to be a resilient birth guardian.
