completing our Sacred Birth Keeper Learning Journal
attending 3 births with documentation
along with a fee of $222

Prepare to Become a Medi-Cal Doula
Your path to becoming a doula begins here:
The Sacred Birth Path is designed to help you meet California’s Medi-Cal doula training requirements and prepare you to apply as a Medi-Cal-enrolled doula provider.
Through this course, you’ll receive foundational education and practical skills in:
Lactation support
Childbirth education and pregnancy anatomy
Nonmedical comfort measures and labor support
Prenatal and postpartum support
Community resources and referrals
And more
What this course provides:
Your training through Sacred Birth Path fulfills the qualifying doula training component of the Medi-Cal pathway and provides documentation of your completed training.
What you’ll complete separately:
To enroll as a Medi-Cal doula, you’ll also need to meet California’s additional requirements, including:
Supporting clients through at least three births
Being at least 18 years old
Holding current Adult/Infant CPR certification
Completing basic HIPAA training
Submitting your application directly to the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) through the PAVE enrollment system
Once you’ve completed the required training and additional requirements, you’ll submit your own application to DHCS for Medi-Cal enrollment.
