    Our mission is to grow a global community of birth keepers deeply rooted in a physiologically based, holistic, and feminine approach to birth.
    We are doing this to support the paradigm shift of modern birth from the prevalent fear-based, sterile, over-medicalized experience, to honoring, advocating for, and protecting a woman’s authentic birth process.

    We believe we can make a positive impact on the health and well-being of families and babies around the globe.

  • Not religious in meaning, but ‘sacred birth’ refers to the profound nature of instinctual birthing and the inspiring energy present when a new child is peacefully born into our world.

  • A Birth Keeper is a doula, a midwife, or anyone with birth knowledge, training, & respect for the sacredness of birth, who encourages mothers to trust their bodies and supports women to give birth feeling safe & empowered.

  • The Sacred Birth Keepers Course is for aspiring mothers, midwives, doulas and you, if you feel the call!

    This course goes far beyond the curriculum of a standard doula training, it is creative, holistic, and is much more accessible than committing to an expensive. long term midwifery program.

    It is an excellent foundation of birth knowledge and resources for your career in birth work.

  • Yes, you will have more than enough knowledge to begin practicing as a doula when you complete this course.

    You will also have an understanding beyond what most doulas receive in their training, that is why we use the term Birth Keeper instead of doula.

    As you begin to attend births, it is always recommended to have mentorship as well as a peer review process with another experienced birth keeper for the first 3 births you attend.

  • Once you complete our Sacred Birth Keeper course, you have 1 year to choose to earn our Birth Keeper Certification

    This is a separate fee of $333 and includes completing:

    Required reading of 3 books from our booklist such as:

    Heart and Hands by Elizabeth Davis, Ancient Map for Modern Birth by Pam England, & Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin.

    Completing 3 writing assignments on a topic of your choice from one of our course modules. expressing your passion and plan in birth work moving forward, and a list of birth and post partum resources in your community.

    And a personal call with Hope Medford to assess your mastery of the course work and consultation for your next steps as a birth keeper. .

    Then, You will receive our digital, downloadable badge of certification to share proof of your training and accomplishment.

  • Our program is unique, because we honor the feminine approach to education as well as birth. It is intrinsic in how we work!

    We nurture an inclusive learning environment, co-creating with each student who joins our community.

    Our approach is holistic, engaging body, mind, and spirit with diverse educational experiences such as sound, voice, touch, movement, and journaling to keep learning interesting and to truly achieve sustainable transformational change for our students.

    And, as well as graduating with a balanced understanding of pregnancy and birth, our students are engaged in their own self reflection, which enables them to expand their capacity for compassionate care giving.

  • You will step forward from our course with the tools and understanding to be an effective birth worker, as well as having a strong foundation for fertility awareness, yoni care, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and more.

  • Our course is a deeper dive into the feminine, creative, holistic, aspects of birth and is more than twice as long, so there is room for a more expansive educational experience.

    The DONA curriculum places a larger focus on preparing for hospital birth, and understanding medical procedures than on out-of-hospital birth options.

    Sacred Birth Path courses cover all in and out-of-hospital birth options, yet the focus is clearly rooted in understanding the natural physiology of birth rather than medical interventions.

  • Yes! definitely! This course is a juicy foundation to all further birth study. Its unique creative and immersive educational approach defiantly offer some perspectives that will fully support yet not be covered in your midwifery studies.

    Also, the Birth Keepers Course will bring you on a journey of self-discovery that is essential to prepare you to confidently step into a birth room, and which will fully benefit you if you go on to become. a midwife.

  • ONLINE- It is a self paced course, but the calls and live support run for 13 weeks. You will continue to have access to the online material for another year after the course is complete.

    IN-PERSON classes - We meet every Wednesday for 13 weeks 9:30am- 2:30 pm

    Certification- You will have 1 year after completing our course to complete the extra reading, writing, and coursework if you choose to earn our Birth Keeper Certification.

  • No worries, all classes and group calls are recorded and available to you for 6 months.
